PTH301: 2 Day 1 Night The Road to Chiang Rai tour.

A chance to visit the famous Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet! This 2 day tour gives you plenty of time to enjoy the attractions of Chiang Rai and its province without having to rush through a day tour or spend too much of the day confined to a mini bus. The tour will begin by taking a route directly north of Chiang Mai. You will have the chance to stop off at the Chiang Dao cave system on the way up to the small riverside town of Thaton where you will ride a long tailed boat on probably one of Thailand’s most scenic and beautiful rivers (River Kok) all the way to Chiang Rai city. On arrival in the city you will be taken to your hotel and have the evening free to explore Chiang Rais colourful night bazaar and its associated entertainments. The second day will be spent up in Chiang Rai's border areas where you will see, Chiang Saen ancient city, the mightly Mekong River, the fabled opium area of the golden triangle as well as getting a glimpse of Burma just over the river in the Thai border town of Mae Sai. On the return trip back to Chiang Mai we will have time to stop of at the stunning Wat Rong Khun (White temple) As well as getting a glimpse of Akha hill tribe life.
